Quick Facts:

In 1929 Italian dictator Benito Mussolini sent a replica of the famed Capitoline Wolf Statue in Rome to the local chapter of the Order of the Sons of Italy, in time for its national convention. Following the dedication ceremony, it was discovered that Cincinnati had mistakenly received a much smaller statue than intended. It was switched for another one in 1931, which still stands in Eden Park, Cincinnati. The statue is inscribed with “Anno X,” which translates to the year 1931 – the 10th year of Benito Mussolini’s regime.
