GCWAC Celebrates World Environment Day
World Environment Day
June 5 marks the annual World Environment Day (WED) celebration. Established in 1972, World Environment Day is a United Nations public outreach platform to raise global awareness of the need for people to take action to protect the environment.
The theme for World Environment Day 2015 is “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.” Current patterns of consumption and production far outstrip our planet’s natural resources. Consuming with care means living with an eye towards sustainability, responsibly managing our resources to ensure a healthy future for us all.
Make Your Voice Heard
Have an idea to show your support of environmental action for World Environment Day this year? You can share your activity on the WED 2015 website where it will be featured to help inspire others.
