North Korea Rattling the Pacific Rim
With Evans J.R. Revere
April 27, GCWAC hosted Evans J.R. Revere, a Senior Advisor at ASG, to speak on the past, present, and future of North Korea. Revere mentioned that the United States has “played both good cop and bad cop with North Korea and neither has worked.” So what is next? It is hard to say. Mission Continues Fellow
For the next six months, Jin Kong, will be with our office participating in a fellowship through Mission Continues. The Mission Continues is a national nonprofit organization that empowers veterans who are adjusting to life at home to find purpose through community impact. Kong will be working on a series of blog posts through the six months. Be sure to check them out every Thursday. Click here to read his latest!
World Leaders Visit Greater Cincinnati
In the month of April, Cincinnati hosted 4 delegations of world leaders through the U.S. Department of State’s premier exchange program, International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
The visitors traveled from 24 countries including Argentina, Canada, Chile, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan, Senegal, Haiti, and more. The GCWAC relies on the commitment and skills of our community to develop local professional relationships and showcase Midwest hospitality. This month, our community truly helped to engage the world leaders on topics that included Science & Technology Education for Youth; 100,000 Strong in the Americas: Expanding Hemispheric Exchange in Higher Education; Museum Management; and New & Traditional Broadcast Media.

US Embassy Delegation
Also in the month of April, we hosted a group of Locally Employed Staff in U.S. Embassies across the world on an “Educational and Cultural Seminar.” The visitors came from the following 19 countries:
Barbados, Belgium, Benin, Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Iraq, New Zealand, Niger, Pakistan, Rwanda, South Africa, Togo, Ukraine, and Venezuela
The delegation came to Cincinnati to gain first-hand knowledge of the American educational system, local and state government, cultural institutions & civic/community groups to provide greater context and understanding of American cultural values.
Thank you — City Hall, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati Public Library’s Makerspace, Winton Woods High School, MARCC, Northern Kentucky Makerspace, Cincinnati Police Department, Matthew 25 Ministries, Northern Kentucky University, Uptech, and Badgirl Ventures for hosting the international delegation for a professional meeting.
