Announcing: Our New Name and Logo
The story of the World Affairs Council began in 1923, and as you can imagine, many things have changed both throughout the world and within the structure of the current organization you see before you today. What has not changed is the mission of the organization and why we are here to serve our community members.
Our Mission: To be the leader in preparing Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky communities, individually and collectively, to thrive in the 21st century global environment by promoting international understanding, education, engagement, and cooperation.
As the Board of Trustees and the Executive Director looked to the future of the organization, there was a need to elevate the brand of the World Affairs Council to encourage stronger engagement in the world, growth in programming for students, and increase in attention paid to the diverse communities within our vibrant region. It was time for a change.
After almost a full year of work from our Board, staff, and new global marketing partner, DeanHouston, the World Affairs Council was ready to share our distinct brand with the world. The Greater Cincinnati World Affairs Council will now be known as World Affairs Council of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky (World Affairs Council for short) in order to be more inclusion of our identity within both Ohio and Kentucky. Furthermore, the Council formed a significant partnership with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Kentucky International Trade Association (NKITA).
With the significant investment and time of the team from Dean Houston, the story of the World Affairs Council was able to define our story through the new brand. As a small international non profit organization leading globally education efforts, connecting local business and family to world leaders, and creating a culturally aware and informed community, our online and outward presence has shifted to meet the needs of today’s society. What you see today came out of this process to share our story better.
Dean Houston executed our internal vision and the power of mission in development of the Council’s new website design and logo. This significant step could not have been taken without the dedicated of our Board of Trustees, staff, and DeanHouston.
