2020 Virtual International Education Summit on Peace and Justice
A free virtual event series for students, teachers, and community members
CINCINNATI, OH, November 6, 2020 – The World Affairs Council – Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky is proud to announce their annual International Education Summit (IES) will be launching during International Education Week (November 16-20) as a virtual week long series of events for the community.
Each year, the World Affairs Council hosts IES with the goal to raise student awareness about global issues and global careers. Due to COVID-19, the event will go virtual as students, teachers, and community members will hear from a diverse group of speakers representing governmental, community, business, and nonprofit organizations on Peace and Justice.
The Council is expanding the event to a week-long program and collaborating with regional World Affairs Councils in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana to enrich programming and expand the number of students, teachers, council members, and global citizens reached.
The Peace and Justice webinars will be held throughout the week of November 16-19, Monday through Thursday, and will be open to the public. Registration is free and required to participate.
On the final day, November 20, Friday, the Cincinnati Council will host a Global Speed Networking and Global Storytelling event with local nonprofit, BeSpoken Live on Campus.
Global Speed Networking will run from 9 AM to 11 AM featuring global professionals who work in international careers, inspiring students to think outside the box when deciding what to do with their future. These individuals will participate in zoom breakout sessions, allowing students to ask questions directly to the global professionals.
Global Storytelling will run from 12 PM to 2 PM, students will break out into groups allowing them to engage with students from all over the world as they work together to create their stories.
