New Additions to the Local i-EATS Trail – MashRoots & Fausto
Have you started your journey around the world yet? The World Affairs Council of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky launched the International Restaurant Trail – International Eats, or i-EATS for short, just a couple of months ago. The i-EATS International Restaurant Trail featured four ethnically diverse restaurants on both sides of the river: Alfio’s Buon Cibo, Oriental Wok, Wunderbar!, and Leyla Mediterranean. For a virtual tour of these four international eateries, click here.
Now, we have added two more restaurants: MashRoots and Fausto! “I am very excited to try so many new dishes from around the world, and at the same time help out some of our region’s many family-owned, international restaurants”, says Michelle Harpenau, Executive Director.
Visit our IEATs webpage for more information to see the map of the new restaurants that joined the trail.
MashRoots
MashRoots is a Puerto Rican restaurant in College Hill. Technically called a Mofongo Bar, two Brazilian/Cuban and Puerto Rican friends with a love for food, science, cultural diversity, and business brought their family foods to Cincinnati.
Fausto
Fausto is an Italian Fusion restaurant in downtown Cincinnati, located inside of the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. They work directly with local farmers, ranchers and dairies. Fausto’s food is fresh, local, and grown with the seasons without sprays pesticides and other processed manufactured chemicals. Visit them Monday – Friday for coffee, small bites, and/or lunch!
Jump on the Trail!
To participate, patrons simply download and print an i-EATS passport from the website here: www.globalcincinnati.org/ieats. Visit four of the six restaurants within a year and get your passport stamped. Send a photo of the filled in passport to ieats@cincyworldaffairs.org and receive a coffee mug and a one-year membership to the World Affairs Council – it’s as easy as that!
Each of the i-EATS restaurants practice proper social distancing and other State sanctioned protocols, and they feature delicious specialty dishes from around the world – some provide catering, dine-in and carry-out options. Please note, you cannot get the stamp right now using delivery services. You must dine in or pick up to get your stamp at this time. We encourage you to experience the i-EATS International Restaurant Trail, visit each of these restaurants – and Tour the World, One Restaurant at a Time!
