Camp Global 2021
Camp Global 2021
Camp Global is a virtual exchange for high school students to explore global environmental issues & the language of photography, all while gaining a better understanding of world affairs. Activities are all in English.
Forty participants from a variety of countries will be divided into “cabins.” Cabins will have a mix of nationalities & a trained facilitator as camp counselor. Cabins interact two hours a week on Zoom at a mutually agreed upon time. They respond to challenges focused on learning about each other’s cultures & explore environmental topics through games & facilitated discussions. On their own, they spend approximately 30 min/week in asynchronous activities & offline project work.
All cabins gather together online weekly for 75 minutes of activities which include games, talking with environmentalists and photographers, and leadership workshops. Each cabin collaborates on a journal to create a visual diary of the environment in their countries.
Campers will earn digital credentials aligned with the Open Badges Standard in global collaboration, which is great for student resumes.
You’ll meet for orientation on Monday, June 14th from 9:30 AM – 11 AM CDT and on Wednesday, June 16th from 9:30 AM – 11 AM CDT. You and your “cabin” will also decide the best day & time for you to meet for an additional two hours a week. Camp ends on July 21st.
