Meet our new Global Guide Fellow, Mohamed Camara!

Mohamed Camara recently joined the World Affairs Council team as a Global Guide Fellow for the 2021 summer semester. During his time with the Council he will create lesson plans, engaging activities, and projects for our local elementary students so they can learn more about our amazing world.

Mohamed is from Mali. He recently graduated from Aiken New Tech High School with an Honor Diploma. He is really excited to be attending the University of Cincinnati this fall, majoring in International Affairs on a full academic scholarship. His career goal is to become a Consular Officer for the U.S. Department of State where he would dedicate his life to protect U.S. citizens abroad, issue passports and other documentation to citizens and nationals, protect U.S. borders, facilitate legitimate travel to the United States, combat fraud, and human trafficking. As his career progresses, he hopes to establish a nonprofit organization promoting peace in order to end political crises.

Mohamed is fluent in four languages Including Bambara, Kakolokan, French, and English. With a dream to be a Consular Officer for the U.S. The Department of State he hopes knowing all of these languages will help him connect with people and solve many problems in International Affairs.

In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and playstation. He considers speaking and learning a new language as one of his many hobbies that in return opens him up to a whole new world, and changes the way he views the world.
