Apply Now! Board of Directors & Advisory Positions Available
The World Affairs Council has 3 leadership opportunities to partner with staff for a “GLOCAL” mission that matters. We seek your guidance & execution skills to further the organization’s mission and strategies. The World Affairs Council should be one of your top three organizations where you participate and donate. The Council structures commitment around the three T’s: Time, Talent, and Treasure as described here.
- Board of Directors – Individuals who are willing to be legally and fiscally responsible for the organization, passionate about the mission, commit to 1-3 hours per month for board and committee meetings, commit to 3 year board term, and give or get at minimum $5,000 through personal or corporate contribution.
- Advisory Group – Individuals who are passionate about the mission, commit to 2-5 hours per month for committee meetings and staff discussions, commit to 1 year term, and give or get at minimum $500 through personal or corporate contribution. This is not a fiduciary board position.
- Young Professionals Advisory Group (under 35) – Be a part of our inaugural cohort! This is your time to shine, get creative, and impactful! Individuals who are passionate about the mission, commit to 2-5 hours per month for committee meetings and staff discussions, commit to 2 year term, and give or get at minimum $100 through personal or corporate contribution. This is not a fiduciary board position.
Please go with your “gut” in selecting the group you feel that you can contribute to the most and we can also change this after discussion with the nominating committee.
What does “Give or Get” mean? For this organization, you to either donate (give) a certain amount of money every year, paid for out of your own personal resources, or agree to raise the equivalent amount from others, paid by your company, friends joining as members, sponsorship, etc. (get).
