Throwback: A Night to Remember: Indian Musical Fusion Fundraiser Exceeds Expectations

Every year, South Asian American Heritage Month runs from July 18 to August 17. This month long celebration centers around individuals with roots in the South Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives–uplifting their cultures, histories, and communities.
With that, we want to highlight our October 27th event: Indian Musical Fusion Night
On October 27th, the World Affairs Council – Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky hosted an unforgettable Indian Musical Fusion Night, blending vibrant cultural celebration with powerful community impact. The event, spearheaded by Mrudula Jillella, was more than just a gathering—it was a heartfelt expression of music, entrepreneurship, and global connection.
Mission-Driven Goals with Real Results
The evening was designed to deepen awareness of the Council’s mission within diverse communities while fostering new relationships and support for global education. We’re proud to share that not only were our goals met—they were surpassed! With 180 community members attending and 15 generous sponsors, it truly showcased the incredible talent and generosity of our local community. A central highlight of the evening was our curated auction, which featured exquisite donations from South Asian entrepreneurs.
A Special Thanks
This event would not have been possible without the vision and leadership of Mrudula Jillella and the generous spirit of every sponsor, donor, and attendee. Your support helps the World Affairs Council continue to bridge cultures, celebrate diversity, and empower global understanding.
Stay tuned for more events that bring Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky closer to the world. Until then—thank you for helping us make a global impact, one evening at a time.
