Because of YOU: Global Education Impact in 2025

Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors of the 12th Annual One World Gala & Global Trivia Competition, students and teachers across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are reaching new heights this year. Your support makes it possible for the World Affairs Council to prepare the next generation to thrive in a connected world.

And what a year it has been so far! 🌍✨

Youth Leaders for Glocal Impact (Year 2!)

This program — created in honor of Rich Lauf, a beloved board member and champion of youth — gives students the opportunity to design and carry out projects that directly benefit their communities.

This year, students from Aiken, Dater, St. Ursula Academy, St. Xavier, Anderson, Purcell Marian, and Winton Woods are leading the way. From tackling food insecurity to building cultural bridges in their schools, these student-led initiatives are making “glocal” leadership real and relevant.

19th Annual International Education Summit (December 9, 2025)

Two hundred students will soon gather for a day of discovery and inspiration. This year’s theme, “Glocal Service: Skills for Lifelong Learning,” will help students connect global topics to local challenges.

More than 25 global professionals from our region will share their expertise, offering insights that could shape students’ future career paths. It’s a powerful reminder of what happens when community leaders invest in youth.

Professional Development for Educators

Teachers are the key to helping students grow global skills, and this year we’re equipping them with innovative training opportunities.

In October, educators will explore Google’s latest AI rollouts in a hands-on workshop in partnership with Hamilton County ESC. Coming in November: Cultivating Student Curiosity, a session designed to help teachers inspire lifelong learning in their classrooms.

This past summer, international and American high school girls discovered more about America — and about their own potential — through the TechGirls program.

With mentorship from incredible local companies like Kroger, Atlas Air, Connico, Rotex Group, Starrag, and Noshable, students explored STEM career opportunities while building friendships that crossed cultures and borders.

International Visitor Programs

Cincinnati continues to be a hub for global dialogue. Through U.S. Department of State exchange programs, international leaders met with students and educators to discuss topics of worldwide importance in education. These visits spark meaningful conversations and give students the chance to see themselves as part of a global community.

Looking Ahead: One World Gala 2026

None of this would be possible without you. Every workshop, every exchange, every spark of curiosity is made stronger because of your support.

We are thrilled to announce that the 13th Annual One World Gala will be held on April 17, 2026 at The Woman’s Club in Clifton. We can’t wait to celebrate with you and continue building momentum for global education in our community.

✨ Because of you, students are not just learning about the world — they are becoming the leaders who will shape it.

Thank you for believing in them. Thank you for investing in global education.
