Haile Foundation Increases Support to Strengthen Global Education in 2025

The World Affairs Council of Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky is honored to announce The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation has generously increased their support for the annual global education programs that occur throughout the year.
“Haile is excited to support the growth of international education opportunities in the Cincinnati region and help support students who lack access to these opportunities and educators who need assistance.” —Bernie Mckay, President & CEO of The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation
Building Global Leaders for Tomorrow
This global education work was funded in part by a grant from The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation. The Haile Foundation’s support sustains a comprehensive portfolio of programs designed to ignite curiosity, strengthen cultural understanding, and prepare students for global careers, including:
- International Education Summit (high school students): Now in its 19th year, this summit brings together professionals from business, government, and universities to connect with students through panel discussions and speed networking to discuss current world affairs topics.
- Global Educator Workshops: Free professional development for teachers to integrate global perspectives into classrooms.
- Youth Leaders for Glocal Impact (YLGI): Student-led projects tied to the Glocal service learning, empowering high schoolers to design solutions for local and global challenges while building leadership skills.
Deepening Local Impact
In 2025, with Haile Foundation’s partnership, the Council will:
- Expand access to underserved schools
- Partner with local organizations
- Support teachers and students at no or low cost, ensuring access to global education for all.
Why It Matters
In today’s world, global competence is not optional—it’s essential. By connecting students with global service learning experiences, global literacy opportunities, and educating the educators, our programs help students and educators transform from spectators into active global citizens.
We are deeply grateful to the Haile Foundation for its ongoing belief in the power of global education to shape the future of our region. Together, we are cultivating globally minded students today to become tomorrow’s leaders, employees, and changemakers.
