The State of Human Rights in North Korea | KEI Livestream Program

March 30, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free
The Korea Economic Institute of America, WACA partner and co-sponsor of WACA’s Future of Korea grant program, will host a livestream panel discussion on “The State of Human Rights in North Korea,” featuring:
  • Ambassador Robert King, former U.S. Special Envoy for North Korea Human Rights, Non-Resident Fellow at the Korea Economic Institute of America
  • Greg Scarlatoiu, Executive Director of the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea
  • Mark Tokola, Moderator, Vice President of the Korea Economic Institute of America
The State Department’s 2019 Human Rights Report continues to be as tough in its language on North Korean human rights violations as were its 2018 and 2017 reports. Along with the February 25, 2020 report of the United Nations Human Rights Council and the Korea Institute for National Unification’s 2019 White Paper on Human Rights in North Korea, there is ample recent documentation showing the continuing abysmal state of human rights in Kim Jong-un’s North Korea.
This event will be livestreamed on Zoom with an interactive Q&A session, during which you will be able to ask a question of the speakers by using the Zoom Q&A function.
Please RSVP to receive the webinar link on the day of the event.
