Welcome Erika Lundstedt! New Global Education Manager
Erika Lundstedt joined the World Affairs Council in September of 2021. In her role as Global Education Manager, she will be building relationships with schools, administrators, teachers, and other community stakeholders to encourage participation in global education programming. Prior to joining the World Affairs Council, she spent eight years as a high school Social Studies teacher. Erika has taught eight different high school courses including AP U.S. History, Economics, and World History. She has coached Model United Nations and academic trivia teams and has led mission and immersion trips to the United Nations, eastern Kentucky, and the U.S.-Mexico border.
Erika is a proud alumna of Indiana University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in 2011. She also holds a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Dayton. Erika has participated in several professional development experiences that have allowed her to develop a passion for global education and world affairs, including attending the Commission on the Status of Women with her students at the United Nations headquarters in 2017. In 2018, she participated in a teacher cultural exchange trip to Japan with the Foreign Policy Research Institute of Philadelphia. Erika is excited to share what she’s learned throughout these experiences with area teachers and students.
Outside of her work with the World Affairs Council, Erika is passionate about advocacy and volunteerism. She currently serves as the Chair of the Junior League of Cincinnati’s Advocacy and Education committee, working to educate the community about the league’s nonprofit partnership and promote civic engagement among women. She also enjoys hiking, yoga, traveling, and thrift shopping.
