Making a Glocal Difference! Enhancing International Women’s Voices
The World Affairs Council would like to recognize Rachel DesRochers. Rachel is the founder of The Incubator Kitchen Collective in Newport, Kentucky. This incredible organization offers a comprehensive framework of support for individuals looking to create their own start-ups in the food industry. Currently, the Incubator Kitchen Collective supports over 70 business ideas.
In February of 2024, Rachel DesRochers, and Matt Spaulding, of the Incubator Kitchen Collective met with our international delegates to discuss “foodpreneurship”.
These diplomatic meetings on food entrepreneurship have opened the door for Rachel DesRochers to speak on a global level. In November, 2024, Ms. Valentina Battista, the Institutional Relations, Communication and ESG Manager, Materias (Innovative start-ups Accelerator) in Italy, reconnected with Rachel to formally request her to be a keynote speaker at a conference in Bari, Italy to discuss women’s entrepreneurship. She also had the honor of sharing her story during a private dinner with the Mayor of Bari & General Consul in Naples.
Rachel said to us,
“From hosting a luncheon at the Incubator Kitchen Collective, to being asked to come speak at a conference from an IVLP alumni, it makes me incredibly grateful to be building companies of impact in this region & being asked to share those ideas across the world. I see a long term relationship being built. Thanks World Affairs Council for bringing us all together for a luncheon earlier this year!”
