A Ghost Waits
September 15, 2021 @ 7:00 pm
A Ghost Waits … Tue Sep 14, & Wed Sep 15, 7 pm both nights.
Q&A with director Adam Stovall. Also available in the CWC Virtual Cinema
In this creative, funny, unpredictable and ultimately moving ghost story, the business of haunting is run by a bureaucracy. Ghosts are “spectral agents” and as such, Muriel is tasked with driving people out of their homes. Her target, Jack – a handyman, is a temporary resident while fixing up a home for new occupants. They should be adversaries, but Jack is more intrigued than frightened, and he connects with Muriel. The interest is mutual and romance blossoms.
Director Adam Stovall will be with us to talk about the film’s central themes of loneliness and connection, sharing his motivation for writing the screenplay and shooting the film in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. We’ll learn why he chose not to make a generic jump-scare or slasher film, but rather, an artful combination of humor and heart with sufficient ghostly attributes to make it a success on the fright fest circuit.
