We’re proud to present two unusual international films offering the stories of two very different women pushed over the edge by toxic environments affecting not only their careers, but their dignity, sanity and safety.

The over-the-top treatment in THE COLUMNIST, set in the realm of social media and publishing, provides a subversively comedic take on a person who goes too far in pursuit of retribution. As its Cannes and NYT Critic’s Pick credentials suggest, NINA WU is a more serious work, a searing indictment of systemic exploitation in the film industry.

The underlying theme is exploitation and both films examine the ways these women try to understand and deal with their experiences as they become immersed in stressful situations. Both offer ample ground for post-film discussion.

The weekend screenings open with NINA WU, Friday June 11 at 7 pm, which repeats on Saturday June 12 at 4 pm. THE COLUMNIST screens Saturday June 12 at 7 pm and repeats on Sunday June 13 at 4 pm. Single tickets are $10 for all screenings, with a discount $16 double-bill option on Saturday. Trailers, details, dates/times and tickets:
