Diplomats at Work | Working in the Arctic: A U.S. Diplomat’s Story feat. Eavan Cully, U.S. Department of State
July 15, 2021 @ 1:00 pm
FREEThe Arctic is a geopolitical hotspot and strengthening the U.S. presence in the Arctic is a foreign policy priority. To that end, in June 2020, U.S. diplomats reopened the U.S. Consulate in Nuuk, Greenland, 67 years after it had been closed. Diplomats at Work is hosting Eavan Cully, the public affairs officer at U.S. Consulate Nuuk, to hear about her experience working to reopen a long-shuttered consulate in what is now a fast-growing city that is becoming a center for Arctic issues. They will discuss the importance of this reopening as well as life and work in Greenland for a young U.S. diplomat. There will be opportunities for Q&A. The event is open to the public.
