April 25, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$15.00

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden’s Barrows Lecture IV

Amy Dickman is the Kaplan Senior Research Fellow in Field Conservation at Oxford University, and has 20 years experience working on large carnivores in Africa, specializing in human-carnivore conflict. She established the Tanzania-based Ruaha Carnivore Project, which focuses on reducing carnivore attacks, providing local communities with real benefits from carnivore presence, and training the next generation of local conservation leaders. Amy will discuss the significance of this project, the difficulties of working in an area where witchcraft and mythology abound, and the conservation successes that are already emerging from this important work.
