There is plenty to love in the coming short film programs — memories of childhood, dramatic thrillers, parenting, comedy, shifting emotional landscapes, friendship and love — great short stories from talented filmmakers.
Program A – Animation, TRT 83 min (Oscar winner, nominees and four bonus shorts). Not Rated – suggest “G.”
Program B – Live-Action, TRT 102 minutes (Oscar winner and nominees). Not rated – suggest “PG-13.”
Tickets: Individual programs – $11 advance, $16 door. Both programs (same-day combos on weekends) $18 advance, $23 door. Available online or by phone, 859-957-FILM.

This year the theme binding both programs is about connection – between parents and kids, sibs, lovers, friends and neighbors, and overall the films are more upbeat than last year.
Women comprise 60% of the nominated filmmakers and there is ample creative, thematic and ethnic diversity with a global reach that includes Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, France, Guatemala and the USA, plus a polyglot entry from Tunisia-Canada-Qatar-Sweden!
Viewing Opportunities
The Oscar Shorts screen on eight days instead of just two, providing flexibility for busy people, with twelve total screenings divided equally by program. Two full weekends of same-day Combo packages make it easier for you to see both programs. Single program screenings on weekday evenings – two Program A (Animation) and two Program B (Live Action). A limited number of single tix are also available on weekends
