SUMMARY:Human Trafficking and Smuggling Course
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Kirill Boychenko \nAs opportunities for legal migration decrease and economic and security complications in countries of origin increase\, people are forced to migrate irregularly. In many cases\, they end up exploited for labour or sex. Demand for low skilled/low cost labour in the global north (along with well-established informal labour practices in destination and transit countries) as well as lack of information about legal migration channels result in migrants falling prey to smuggling and trafficking networks. \nThis e-learning course analyses the concepts of human trafficking and migrant smuggling while discussing various practical cases from around the globe. It focuses on existing policies and modalities of prevention\, protection and prosecution\, including victim identification\, national/trans-national referral mechanisms and best practices in combating these crimes while addressing the needs of survivors.

DESCRIPTION:WHAT: A week long festival (a) to showcase Greater Cincinnati’s religious diversity and vitality\, (b) to celebrate religion’s contributions to our community’s quality of life\, and (c) to model our exemplary interfaith relations and collaboration. \nIncluding: A Day of Community Service – interfaith groupings of volunteers will spend the day together performing community service\, followed by a discussion of their shared experience. (There will be optional days and service projects. This activity should be of special appeal to younger audiences.) \nConcluding: A Day of Celebration – a fun and educational festival\, featuring music and culture\, purely non-political\, within a setting of many and diverse religious group exhibitors; to include opportunities for interfaith prayer/meditation and dialogue. (A Sunday afternoon from 1:00-5:00 p.m.)
