DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Department of State is dedicated to protecting and strengthening America’s interests abroad and right here at home. So whether constructing or managing Embassies throughout the world\, explaining American foreign policy to citizens of other countries\, or teaching entrepreneurial skills to young people in emerging countries\, you can make a difference with the U.S. Department of State. \n\n\nThe Council is hosting Anne Grimes\, Head of the Office of International Visitors\, US Department of State for a two-day visit to help us understand more about this esteemed exchange program and to learn what we do as a local grassroots arm working to program professional and cultural experiences for elite international delegations.\n\n\nThe evening will begin with networking and happy hour with our visiting delegations from discussing the Social Entrepreneurship world-wide. Following an IVLP 101 briefing from Anne Grimes. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served before and during the speaking event.\n\n\n\n\nBio: Anne Grimes has been a U.S. Foreign Service Officer for 28 years and is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Her previous postings have included Antananarivo\, Madagascar; Surabaya\, Indonesia; Ouagadougou\, Burkina Faso; Washington\, D.C.; Jakarta\, Indonesia; Mumbai\, India; and Beijing\, China. She speaks French\, Indonesian\, and Mandarin. She joined the Office of International Visitors as Office Director in September 2018.\n\n\n\n\nAnne is a graduate of Wilson College in Chambersburg\, PA\, with a double major in History and French. Her home town is Kennett Square\, PA. She is married to Tala Ramiandrisoa\, a professional jazz musician\, and has two adult children\, son Joshua\, and daughter Joelle. Anne’s family also includes a dog named Jasmine.
