As our nation shifts its focus to sustainability\, there will be job losses in certain carbon-intensive sectors and new jobs requiring new skills and talents. \nJoin us for a conversation with national thought leader Kevin Cassidy\, as he shares insights on Just Transition\, a vision-led\, unifying and place-based set of principles\, processes and practices that build economic and political power to shift from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy. \nAbout the Speaker: Kevin Cassidy is Director and Representative to the Bretton Woods & Multilateral Organizations for the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for the United States. The United States office of the ILO has been in Washington\, DC since 1920\, and is a specialized agency of the United Nations. Its mission is to promote decent work for all women and men\, by bringing together workers\, employers and governments. The US is the largest development partner of the ILO. DESCRIPTION:Young professionals in the Greater Cincinnati region are invited to attend the EACC Young Professionals Executive Insights event on May 3 featuring Todd Schwartz\, Executive Director\, European American Chamber of Commerce (EACC) Greater Cincinnati. \nTodd Schwartz retired from the Foreign Service of the United States in September 2015 with the personal rank of Counselor (roughly equivalent to Brigadier General). \nMr. Schwartz joined the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer in 1987. His overseas postings included Germany\, Saudi Arabia\, Tunisia\, Qatar\, the Philippines\, Kuwait (Counselor for Economic Affairs)\, Canada (Principal Officer in Winnipeg\, Manitoba)\, and Iraq (Counselor for Economic Affairs). His assignments in Washington have included tours as Director for the Office of Iraq Economic Affairs\, Director of the Office of Iran Affairs\, and as an assessor with the Board of Examiners for the Foreign Service. He received numerous awards throughout his career\, including three Superior Honor Awards\, six Meritorious Honor Awards\, and the Secretary’s Career Achievement Award. \nMr. Schwartz joined the EACC Greater Cincinnati as Executive Director in 2017. \nAbout EACC Greater Cincinnati\nThe European American Chamber of Commerce (EACC) of Greater Cincinnati is a dynamic network of European and American businesses and organizations working together to support the growth of trade and investment between the Cincinnati region and Europe. Our role is to foster relationships and build connections that enable European investors to find success here and American investors and exporters to do the same in Europe.
