WHAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING

The World Affairs Council of Cincinnati & NKY has managed to increase global learning opportunities for students and teachers; innovate with virtual exchanges; and connects our community to foreign affairs speakers. We remain committed to serving our community and helping to diminish boundaries. By serving over 11,000 students in 2025, we are continuing to be asked by our global partners for more and we are seeking to expand to meet those needs for students and educators.

This year, the Council is going to continue creating international connections, raising awareness on imperative global topics, and developing empathy within students through creating an online learning platform.

We are excited to bring to you the 13th annual One World Gala & Global Trivia Competition. As our only fundraiser during the year, we need your support to continue increasing students’ global skills for our world.

Play your part in these highly anticipated events that support ongoing educational and cultural programs designed to help students in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky live, work, and lead globally.

Annual Global Education Programs

Youth Leaders for Global ImpactEmpower student changemakers for our community

Youth Leaders for Global Impact helps students and teachers create projects that make a real difference in their schools and communities. This “glocal” impact grant lets students choose the causes they care about, take action to solve them, and create positive change that lasts. Your donation allows their ideas to turn into meaningful outcomes, shaping a better future for all.

International Education Summit: Give high school student access to global workforce

The International Education Summit invites high school students to increase their awareness about glocal issues and global careers.  In its 20th year, students immerse in robust, engaging resources and conversations that center on ways to think globally and act locally.  This experience provides students with global perspectives, enhances their critical thinking and leadership skills, and inspires them to pursue academic and personal growth. This can be a life-changing event, inspiring the next generation of global leaders in our community.

“I realized we are all capable of making change in our communities. Just because we go to different schools and live different lives, doesn’t mean that our impact is limited. ” -Student attendee at the 2024 International Education Summit

Global Youth Camp

For the 7th year, we will host camp for kids in Covington, Kentucky to support global literacy efforts. This is a reading and cultural program. Since the implementation of this program, we have reached over 700 youth in need.

Educator Workshops: Professional development

Local educators need tools to open new doors for their students. Through collaborative partnerships, we’ll show teachers how to help students build the global skills they’ll need for a successful future. With a mix of virtual and in-person events, your support will create opportunities that empower both educators and students to reach their full potential.

My husband and I strive to be informed and welcoming citizen diplomats and have been very impressed with the community involvement that the World Affairs Council offers to ensure and foster the knowledge, exposure and opportunity to do so in our local schools, business communities and public at large. My children delight in the exposure to different cultures, ways of thinking and languages. I like knowing that as an organization, we’re making a meaningful impact at home and abroad.”
