Local Resources

CHRC has a two-fold mission. The first, developed out of the organization’s historical roots, is to assist the community in overcoming prejudice and discrimination by building mutual respect and understanding. CHRC acts as a catalyst to promote the building of positive relationships between and among various groups and cultures and serves as a conduit for information from and to various groups including the Mayor, City Council, and the City Manager.The second is to develop the capacity of community members. This capacity is cultivated by providing resources or connections to resources that develop and enhance the knowledge base and skill sets of our clients who might face obstacles due to racial, ethnic, gender, class, or social differences.
