Biography

Professor Albarrán’s teaching and research interests include revolution and social movement in Latin America, popular culture, modern Mexico, kitsch and commodification of Latin American icons. Her book project, Children of the Revolution: Constructing the Mexican Citizen, 1920-1940, examines the development of cultural nationalism through children’s popular culture in revolutionary Mexico.
